Since my first overland journey in the 1990s from Nairobi to Harare I have visited all four corners of Africa. Highest point, quite literally, was scaling Mt Stanley in the Rwenzoris whilst I have also sunk to the depth of the incredible furnace landscapes of the Afar region in Djibouti. A passionate adventurer, I like to get far off the beaten tracks. With forthcoming trips to Sierra Leone and Chad complimenting recent travels in Comoros and Liberia. When I'm not travelling I'm thinking about travelling. Writing for the British national travel media and recording for BBC Radio 4 keep me busy when I'm not travelling.
